Sound Adventure -Term 2 2026 (Thursdays)

Service Description

Sound Adventure runs for 10 weeks (during the school term) and is suitable for children aged 4-8 years. Sound Adventure is a structured, table-based speech sound group designed for children who are ready for more direct teaching and focused practice. This group targets later developing speech sounds and supports children to improve clarity, accuracy and confidence in their speech. Sessions include explicit teaching of sound production, guided practice, structured games, and small group activities to support generalisation. Children are supported to practise their target sounds in increasingly complex tasks in a motivating and supportive environment. Each session runs for 45 minutes. Speech sounds targeted include: Week 1 - /k/ and /g/ sounds Week 2 - /f/ and /v/ sounds Week 3 - /ch/ and /j/ sounds Week 4 - /s/ sound Week 5 - /z/ and /zh/ sounds Week 6 - /sh/ sound Week 7 - /l/ sound Week 8 - /r/ sound Week 9 - Consonant blends (/s/, /l/ and /r/ blends) Week 10 - /th/ sound A workbook is included in the cost of the group and is provided in the first few weeks of term. The workbook complements what is explored each week and provides optional home practice ideas to support carryover between sessions. It is designed to reinforce learning in a flexible and practical way, rather than as a formal homework program. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend sessions to hear cues, feedback and strategies that can be supported at home. Pricing is per child. Siblings are welcome to attend and may participate in activities if space permits and they are not disrupting the flow of the session. NOTE: Hello Friend Speech is located on the first floor of the Pender's Building with stair access only. Free and paid parking is available nearby in carparks located off West Street or at Nicholas Street Precinct. A toilet is available onsite. Booking policy: Payment is not charged at the time of booking. An intake form and invoice will be sent to the provided email with payment options. A minimum of 4 participants are required for the group to run. If the minimum is not reached, the participant will be given the option to change to another group or to wait for the following term. NDIS Funding: Children with Agency or Self Managed NDIS plans can book in for sessions using their funding. Cancellation policy: No refund will be provided for non-attendance.
