Sign & Play - Term 1 2025

Service Description

Hello Friend's Sign & Play Workshop runs for 10 weeks and is suitable for children aged 10 months - 2 years. The program is designed to inform families of speech and language developmental milestones while extending their knowledge of sign to support their child's communication development. Baby sign is a fantastic tool which encourages early communication, builds communication confidence, reduces frustration, and establishes strong bonds. NOTE: You do not have to participate in the Baby Sign workshop to attend Sign & Play. Each week, families learn a group of signs and practise incorporating these signs in daily activities including book reading, songs and play to support your implementation at home. Each session runs for 45 minutes - 30 minutes of learning and 15 minutes of social time (Including an option to pre-order a coffee from our amazing neighbour, Rafter & Rose!). The topics for each week are: Week 1 - Farm Animals Week 2 - Zoo & Australian Animals Week 3 - Ocean Animals & Bugs Week 4 - Fruit & Vegetables Week 5 - Food Week 6 - Drinks Week 7 - Transport Week 8 - Letters & Numbers Week 9 - Colours Week 10 - Feelings A workbook to compliment what is learnt during the workshop including tips and suggestions how to incorporate sign in daily activities is included in the cost and is provided in Week 1 of the workshop. Mums, Dads, Grandparents and other close family members are welcome to attend this program with pricing being based per child. Mats and cushions are available, however feel free to bring along anything you feel will make you or your baby comfortable. Toilet and change facilities are available onsite. NOTE: Hello Friend Speech is located on the first floor of the Pender's Building with stair access only. Prams are not suitable. Free and paid parking is available nearby in carparks located off West Street or at Nicholas Street Precinct. Booking policy: Payment is not charged at the time of booking. An intake form and invoice will be sent to the provided email with payment options. NDIS Funding: Children with Agency or Self Managed NDIS plans can book in for sessions using their funding. Cancellation policy: No refund will be provided for non-attendance, however signs missed will be reviewed with the family at the next session.
