Language Club - Term 1 2025

Service Description

Language Club runs for 10 weeks (during the school term) and is suitable for children aged 4-8 years. (Note: Language Club will only run for 9 weeks during Term 1 as Alana is unavailable in Week 1). Language Club is designed to provide children with a dynamic learning experience that encourages participation and language growth. Each week, Language Club will work on a different language skill while participating in language focused activities to support their development. Each session runs for 45 minutes. The language areas targeted include: Week 1 - No session (Alana is not available in Week 1) Week 2 - Active Listening & Wh- Questions Week 3 - Word Types (Nouns & Verbs) Week 4 - Vocabulary Expansion (Adjectives & Adverbs) Week 5 - Sentence Structure (Colourful Semantics) Week 6 - Sentence Expansion (Conjunctions) Week 7 - Grammar Rules (Pronouns & Plurals) Week 8 - Tense (Past, Present, Future) Week 9 - Irregular Words (Irregular Plurals & Past Tense) Week 10 - Concepts & Following Directions A workbook to compliment what is learnt during the program including activity suggestions to continue to practise at home is included in the cost and is provided in Week 2. Mums, Dads, Grandparents and other close family members are welcome to attend the session with pricing being based per child. Younger or older siblings are also welcome to attend free of charge and are invited to join in during the activities as long as they are not disrupting the session. NOTE: Hello Friend Speech is located on the first floor of the Pender's Building with stair access only. Free and paid parking is available nearby in carparks located off West Street or at Nicholas Street Precinct. A toilet is available onsite. Booking policy: Payment is not charged at the time of booking. An intake form and invoice will be sent to the provided email with payment options. NDIS Funding: Children with Agency or Self Managed NDIS plans can book in for sessions using their funding. Cancellation policy: No refund will be provided for non-attendance.
